Using the metre stick we were able to measure how quickly every boy could see the metre stick drop and then catch it without warning. We could do this by identifying exactly how far up the metre stick, in centimetres, he caught it. The fastest in the class (so far) was Anthony with 22cm.

Young Scientist-measuring reaction time.
Today in Science we studied the Central Nervous System. We did an experiment to prove that the human body's reaction to a stimulus is not instantaneous and that it takes a very short but measureable period of time for us to sense something, for our nerves to transmit the message to our brain and for the brain to respond and send a reaction out to our muscles.
