RTE Elev8

The boys in the class were filmed as part of the Elav8 show last Thursday. The crew and presenter Diana Bunici came and filmed the class in the hall. Our part of the show will be aired on the 22nd of October at around 4pm when Brian and Oisín will participate in live sports quiz in the RTÉ studios. Good luck boys.

Some of the boys (and Mr. Munnelly) also made a cameo in "Freak Out Friday" which aired last week. This can be viewed here. (Skip to 17 minutes in).

Sam in the Star

Last Thursday, to Mr. Foley's bitter disappointment, Sam McGuire came to visit Star of the Sea. The trophy, along with the National League and Leinster Championship trophies was brought in by Johnny Cooper (Dublin corner-back) and Declan D'arcy (Dublin selector). It was great as all the boys got to ask questions and have their photos taken with the silverware.

Hopefully in the future we will have some past pupils bringing Sam (or Liam) back to the Star.

Up the Dubs.

Cross Country

Last Wednesday, 9th of October, some boys from our class and 5th class competed in the Cross Country in Santry. We ran very well and Pappy came fourth over all. He was unlucky to miss out on a place on the podium. Our top four runners got a points total of 116 points which was only 13 points off the third place school who got 103 points. It was a very tough race as it was 1,000 metres long and there were almost 200 boys (30+ schools) running in the race. Well done to the 13 runners involved and a special thanks to Oisín and Pappy's Dads and Callum's Mum who helped out with lifts and preparation of the team for the big race.

Martin Luther King Video

If you haven't already done so please check out our Martin Luther King Video which our class made to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the famous "I Have A Dream" speech.
